James Tatti has been teaching music to children and adults of all ages since 2004 and currently teaches in the South Bay/San Jose area.
James Tatti currently holds a BFA in Music Composition from The California Institute of the Arts. He studied piano pedagogy under Heui-Ping Chen Lin and violin pedagogy under Agnes Perroud. His musical training began at age four with violin and he added piano to his instrumental studies at age seven.
He received the MTAC Senior Medallion and CAPMT Paderewski Medal for ten years of participation in both organizations’ annual student testing programs. James received an Honorable Mention in the 2008 MTAC Scholarship Recital and a music scholarship from the Sacramento Philharmonic League, as well as numerous scholarships from CalArts and the Lulu May & Richard Vonhagen foundation. His music has been performed at the Roy O. Disney Hall, Wild Beast Pavilion, and the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center. His scores have been screened at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and on international television.
Lessons are individualized based on each student’s learning style, musical preferences and personal goals.
Lessons strengthen a student's playing ability, performance presence, musicianship skills, knowledge of music history and theory, and ability to express their individual creativity.
